Ventrodorsal thorax of the same 11- year old Golden Retriever with a tumor at the fourth to sixth intercostal space involving the right middle lung lobe (white, triangular shapes).
This is an osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in the proximal right femur of a 12-year neutered male black Labrador Retriever. |

Ultrasound imaging is a non-invasive method of visualizing organs, fluid, internal lymph nodes and other structures. If an abnormality is found (such as a mass), the ultrasound probe may be used to guide a biopsy needle.
