Jacob's Easy Lunchtime Snack
  • 1 cup plain, full fat Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup cooked summer squash
  • ½ cup applesauce
  • Small handful (~8) crushed walnut halves

Stir all ingredients together and serve with a smile!

You can make as much or as little of this recipe as you like

  • Jacob (5 lb, 14-year-old Toy Poodle) gets 4 Tblsp total at lunch time (i.e. - 2 Tbs yogurt, 1 Tbs squash, 1 Tbs applesauce and 1 crushed walnut half)
  • Tierza (50 lb, 10-month-old, Labradoodle) gets the full recipe

This concoction can also be used as "hollow-toy" filler! I use the Kong TM toys. Make sure the Kong is clean. Stop up the little hole at the top with mozzarella cheese, fill with yogurt recipe and put in the freezer overnight. These "popsicles" keep the dogs happily occupied for a while and they get a nutritious meal at the same time!
