Why use vitamins?

There are no conventional medicines that exert the same effect on the body as natural vitamins. The same statement holds true for amino acids, fatty acids, minerals and other dietary essentials. Nutritional supplements such as vitamins and medicinal plants complement the commercial pharmacopoeia of antibiotic drugs, antihistamines, and glucocorticoids. In general:

vitamins act slowly, drugs act rapidly;

vitamins are food, drugs are chemicals;

vitamins have broad effects, drugs have a narrow target;

vitamins have few if any, harmful side effects;

vitamins promote healing, and help to restore balance.

POTATO DIET

This is a good diet for dogs with soft, pudding-like diarrhea. Cut into pieces:

                  50% white potatoes

                  50% sweet potatoes

                   slice of turnip, and slice of leek

Boil this combination and add a small amount of boiled beef, turkey, or chicken for flavor. Feed as the only solid food for a few days or until the stool returns to normal. If diarrhea persists, contact your local veterinarian.
